PURCHASING

The purchasing department at Corporate Express is based at head office in Birmingham and is made up of 3 separate teams.

Product Management

The role of the product management team is to source products at competitive prices from reliable suppliers for sale in the company's catalogue and also source non-catalogue lines specifically for customers. The team is also responsible for price negotiation, initial sales forecasts and in general acts as an advisor to all other departments on product and supplier issues.

Inventory Control

The inventory control team are responsible for maintaining stock levels, providing a high level of order fulfilment whilst carefully controlling the company's inventory value. Utilizing a real-time stock management system, allied to our own customised demand forecasting system, our 're-buyers' are able to closely monitor product demand and maximize supply chain efficiency.

Product File

The product file team are responsible for the upkeep of the company's product database, the setup of products and the maintenance of price. They are also responsible for the continued development of vendor information and the supplier file database.
