We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Vacuum Excavator Driver/Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate vacuum excavation equipment to safely expose underground utilities, supporting our repair and maintenance activities across a range of sites. This is a standalone role and will involve driving vacuum trucks to and from site, operating the equipment, maintaining machinery, and ensuring all work is carried out in line with safety regulations and company standards.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

• Safely operate vacuum excavation trucks and related equipment.
• Drive to and from job sites in line with road and transport regulations.
• Interpret site drawings, plans, and utility markings to guide excavation.
• Protect underground utilities and assist with site setup and cleanup.
• Perform routine maintenance and pre/post-trip equipment inspections.
• Complete job documentation, including reports and safety checklists.
• Communicate clearly with teams and follow all safety protocols.

We would love to hear from you if...

You have previous experience as an HGV and vacuum excavator driver/operator, hold a Category 3 HGV licence, and ideally possess a CPCS Suction Excavator and/or EUSR qualification. You have a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety standards, solid organisational skills, and the physical ability to work in demanding environments, and you’re ready to support no-dig repair and maintenance activities by operating vacuum excavators safely and efficiently.

Mechanical knowledge would be advantageous, allowing you to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues while on the road. Excellent communication skills are important, as you will be working closely with clients and team members, and you will need to be able to work independently, managing your time effectively to meet deadlines.
