Are you an experienced leader with a passion for excellence in water metering operations? We’re looking for a dynamic Senior Operations Manager to join the IMA Alliance, where you’ll oversee a team of Front-Line Managers and support operational teams in delivering top-notch metering services across the region.

In this senior role, you’ll be instrumental in setting best practices, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and driving initiatives in health and safety, customer service, and operational efficiency.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved with…

  • Develop and oversee health and safety plans for all field operations, aiming for a zero AFR and zero utility strike target. Lead monthly health and safety reviews, support behavioural safety initiatives, and ensure compliance with POSWSH and Water Regulations.
  • Champion a culture prioritising health, safety, and well-being within operational teams, including implementing the LIFE engagement programme.
  • Drive a customer-focused approach with the goal of 100% satisfaction, ensuring considerate communication and minimal community disruption during all phases of work.
  • Establish robust communication channels with frontline teams, ensuring consistency in health and safety, water quality, and commercial efficiency practices.
  • Lead resource planning to position teams effectively, reduce absences, and maintain up-to-date training and competency standards.
  • Oversee performance metrics, meet contract KPIs, and implement Performance Improvement Plans as necessary. Conduct cost reviews and develop action plans to achieve savings while aligning team productivity with targets. Support recruitment, training, and balanced rotation for new operational staff, ensuring the team’s skills align with operational needs.
  • Partner with project teams on initiatives such as Reinstatement, Stores Management, and Depot Strategies to ensure smooth transitions and timely delivery.

We would love to hear from you if…

You are an experienced leader with a strong track record in managing large-scale operational teams and achieving KPIs, ideally within utilities or construction. A solid background in health and safety, along with experience driving safety initiatives, is essential.

The ideal candidate will excel in stakeholder management, with the ability to communicate effectively and inspire teams toward shared goals. Strong skills in performance and cost management, with a focus on operational efficiency, are key.

Finally, a proactive, customer-focused approach is crucial. We’re looking for someone committed to delivering high-quality services that meet customer needs and expectations.
