Streetworks Planner

Maple Cross

We Care

That’s why we need people like you. People who appreciate their role in helping others to be successful.

We’re looking for a Streetworks Planner to join our team, supporting the delivery of our Thames Water contract.

You’ll be involved from the early planning stages, understanding what needs to be delivered, identifying the requirements and ensuring accurate information is provided to our operational teams. Additionally, you’ll need to be organised and able to manage a number of work orders at different stages, keeping on top of deadlines and responding quickly when plans need to change.

Here are some of the activities you’ll be involved in...

  • Planning and coordinating work orders for operational teams using a range of systems.
  • Reviewing work requirements and ensuring all relevant information is captured before works commence.
  • Processing and managing streetworks notices, permits, road closures, footway closures and traffic management requests.
  • Ensuring works are appropriately planned in line with streetworks legislation, client requirements and agreed timescales.
  • Monitoring work from planning through to completion, ensuring progress is accurately recorded and communicated.
  • Liaising with operational teams to resolve planning issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Working closely with Thames Water and other stakeholders to ensure requirements and expectations are clearly understood.
  • Monitoring deadlines and identifying potential issues that could affect delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring planning information is kept up to date.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of planning processes and ways of working.

We would love to hear from you if…

You have experience working in a streetworks, planning, utilities or operational environment, ideally with an understanding of permits, notices and traffic management requirements.

You’ll be highly organised and comfortable managing multiple work orders and deadlines at the same time. You’ll be able to assess information, make decisions and find solutions when plans change or issues arise.

You’ll have strong communication skills and enjoy working with different people, from operational teams and colleagues through to clients and external stakeholders. Experience dealing with Thames Water or another water utility would be advantageous.

You’ll be confident using computer systems and have good attention to detail, particularly when dealing with work instructions, permits, notices and compliance information.

Knowledge of NRSWA and streetworks legislation, including the permitting and noticing process, would be highly desirable.
