Hours: 7.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday

As a direct result of business growth, we have several vacancies for qualified LV Mains Jointers, who go out of their way to exceed minimum requirements. Working with our dedicated Northern Power Grid team, you will be undertaking all LV jointing and associated works on the electrical network. We help Northern Powergrid keep the lights switched on, by providing cable engineering services for both planned and reactive works.

The Role:

As an LV Jointer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of low voltage electrical systems, ensuring the continuous and reliable supply of electricity to customers.

Here are some of the activities that you will get involved in…

  • Perform jointing and terminations of low voltage cables, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Conduct fault-finding exercises to identify and rectify issues within the low voltage network, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions.
  • Undertake the installation and upgrade of low voltage equipment and components, contributing to the enhancement of the overall distribution network.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during the execution of tasks, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all jointing, termination, and maintenance activities, providing comprehensive documentation for future reference.

We are eager to hear from individuals who can demonstrate the following:

Proven experience as an LV Jointer with a strong understanding of low voltage electrical systems and components within the local DNO electrical network, along with knowledge of linking and fusing, fault management, and hands-on experience with various cables such as PILC, CONSAC, and WNE. Existing and up-to-date DNO authorisations are essential for this role.

A full and valid UK driver’s licence

Additionally, the following qualifications are highly desirable, Streetworks (NRSWA) accreditation and
First aid qualification
