Kitchen Porter

A day and boarding boys' independent school for preparatory pupils ages 8–13 in Cothill, Oxfordshire. Catering around 230 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch and Supper and match teas usually Wednesdays & Saturdays. This is a 7 day operation so shift patters are usually 5 out of 7. There is also some high end hospitality on offer here.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Abingdon.

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

Key skills:

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Excellent customer service skills
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher

We are looking for:

• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Can do attitude.
• Organisation Skills.

Knowledge / competencies:

• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
