Duty Manager

A mixed private school for both boarding and day pupils. Situated in Bath, Somerset. Catering for 750 students and teachers daily, we offer a core feeding of breakfast, lunch, supper and evening snack. Lots of hospitality at this location. This is a term-time plus contract, working 48 weeks. This is a 7-day operation so working pattern would be 5 out of 7. Additional benefit of this location is free on-site parking.

We are looking for a DutyManager to lead the cateringteam at one of our fantastic Locations in Bath.

You will have previous experience of working as either a Supervisor or Assistant Manager within a corporate Head Office contract or high end independent schools.

Key responsibilities:

• To manage a team ensuring hospitality is delivered on time and is presented to the clients and companies standards
• To manage deliver the day to day services including Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, Tuck shop and hospitality
• To train and develop the team.
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
• Ensuring day to day H&S controls are monitored

Key personal skills and attributes:

• Previous experience of working within a catering environment
• Previous experience of serving customers within a catering establishment
• Team working abilities, Listening skills, the ability to work on own initiative, impeccable personal presentation, hygiene and behaviour to others, Food hygiene certificate preferred.
• The ability to be adaptable and be flexible as necessary. Reliable, Honest and able to demonstrate an open attentive approach to customer service.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take some responsibility.
• Ability to manage some moderately heavy lifting, carrying, and pushing.

Knowledge / competencies:

• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
