Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Guest Service Assistant, helping to deliver excellent service across all areas of the hotel, which currently operates under a government contract.

About Us

Mercure Dumfries Cargenholm House Hotel is the newest addition to Splendid Hospitality Group's portfolio, which opened in January 2023. Situated in the serene countryside, Mercure Dumfries Hotel sits 2.5 miles away from the historic market town of Dumfries.

Role in our Family

Though this role is based mainly in the Housekeeping Department, as Guest Service Assistant your responsibilities include:

  • To ensure all rooms are turned around in an efficient manner
  • All rooms must be cleaned, sanitised and prepared in accordance to SHG and Brand guidelines.
  • Support your line manager in ordering and maintaining linen stock.
  • To provide an efficient and friendly service to residents at all times.
  • To maintain the reception, food and beverage outlets, public areas, stores, back office and staff areas in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Deal with any residents queries/complaints in a polite and friendly manner.
  • All complaints, comments, special requests and other business to be recorded in the daily handover log.
  • To clearly communicate with other departments to ensure minimal impact on guest service.
  • At times you may be asked to help in other departments as and where the business requires support.
