At De Vere, we’re seeking a Sales & Events Office Trainer to elevate performance across our portfolio. You’ll work closely with property Sales & Event Office Managers, developing tailored training programs and giving one-to-one training and guidance to empower our teams and enhance sales & service standards.
This role will involve regular travel across the De Vere portfolio and as such the package includes a car allowance. Hotel accommodation will also be provided as required for certain training assignments.
In this pivotal role, you’ll deliver impactful group training sessions, including Negotiating Skills, Telephone Techniques, and Showround Techniques, while coaching individuals to strengthen their expertise in sales, event coordination, and customer engagement. You’ll also play a key role in driving conversion rates, fostering best practices, and ensuring consistent standards across the business.
What You’ll Do:
As the Sales & Events Office Trainer, your key responsibilities will include:
• Reviewing and delivering training programs for conference and events teams, with a focus on sales, customer service, and event coordination.
• Assessing individual and team competencies, identifying skill gaps, and creating development plans to maximise performance.
• Creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistency and excellence across all properties.
• Leading engaging workshops, simulations, and one-on-one coaching sessions to improve client communication, booking systems expertise, and upselling techniques.
• Collaborating with teams during monthly conversion days to support revenue growth and improve customer experience.
• Conducting audits and health checks to ensure compliance with company standards and identifying areas for improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
• A proactive and adaptable approach, with the flexibility to travel across our portfolio on a regular basis (including overnight stays)
• Proven experience in managing, training and mentoring within a hotel sales office focused on conference and wedding bookings
• Strong knowledge of Sales & Events office operations, including converting enquiries, managing bookings, event planning, and client communication.
• Exceptional presentation, coaching, and leadership skills to inspire and develop others.
• Experience with event management software (e.g., Opera or similar).
