The Restaurant

Just a stone’s throw from the station, BAO Kings Cross is our largest and most versatile restaurant. Designed with warm wooden panelling and clean architectural lines, the space offers a calm, considered backdrop to enjoy our full BAO menu - from fluffy steamed Bao to bold Taiwanese small plates and rice dishes.

The restaurant features a large, open dining room, a private mezzanine space for group dining, and a relaxed terrace perfect for sunny days. It’s a dynamic restaurant that welcomes everything from quick solo lunches to special celebrations.

The Position

At BAO, we do things properly - from how we welcome guests to how we support each other on shift. As a FOH Team Member, you could be working a section, running dishes, or making drinks behind the bar. Whatever the role, you’ll be part of creating a calm, confident atmosphere and consistently great guest experiences.

You don’t need loads of experience, just a great attitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. We’ll teach you everything else.

What you’ll be doing:

- Running food and drinks with speed and care
- Working a section and guiding guests through the BAO experience
- Preparing drinks or supporting bar service, depending on the shift
- Helping keep the restaurant clean, organised, and ready for service
- Communicating clearly with your team to keep things flowing smoothly
- Learning about the menu, service style, and guest care standards

- A friendly, positive presence — someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality
- Comfortable multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment
- Supportive and kind — a real team player who helps others and leads with care
- A good communicator who takes direction well and isn’t afraid to ask questions

Founded in 2013 by family trio, Erchen Chang, Shing Tat Chung and Wai Ting Chung in a carpark in East London to now spanning 7 restaurants across London, where each has its own story of Taiwanese Culture with unique experience, narrative and menu.
