Position Overview

As Financial Accountant for Troo Hospitality you will play an integral role to ensuring the financial integrity of our business operations. You will be managing key accounting processes, preparing financial reports, and supporting strategic financial planning. Reporting to the Head of Finance you will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance, driving accuracy, and helping the business make informed financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure financial data integrity.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including supplier and client reconciliations.
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/UK GAAP) and tax regulations (e.g., VAT).
• Collaborate with operational departments (e.g., front office, F&B, housekeeping) to ensure alignment of financial practices and reporting.
• Liaise with external auditors and support the year-end audit process.
• Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of internal controls.
• Support ad hoc financial projects, cost analysis, and business performance reviews
• Maintains a strong accounting & operational control environment to safeguard assets improve operations and profitability and manage business risks
• Reconciles balance sheet and ensures account balances are current and supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with SOPs
• Facilitates P&L critique meetings to review results with management team
• Oversees monthly reporting for several hotels and ensures timely delivery of accurate reporting to hotel owners.
• Manages internal, external and regulatory audit processes and ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), verifying that hotel policies are administered fairly and consistently
• Effectively manages the day-to-day operation of Accounting to execute finance and accounting responsibilities
• Verifies that the P&L is accurate (i.e., costs are matched to revenue, costs are recorded in the accounts) and statements are delivered to appropriate individuals in a timely manner
• Recruit, train and develop finance team members and support in developing our next finance manager

Experience / skills required:
• Qualified chartered accountant (ICAEW or ICAS preferred)
• 3 years plus experience in external audit
• Strong technical expertise of FRS 102
• Prior experience in leading a team and training junior team members
• Excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a small team and able to work independently
