Decimo is the design and culinary jewel in our crown at The Standard, London. Here, Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias merges the Spanish cuisine of his family with his love of Mexico for his debut London restaurant. Expect lots of flavour – open fire cooking, mezcal cocktails, and a dramatically different tortilla – with floor-to-ceiling windows and dramatic views across the London skyline.

We are now seeking a dynamic leader to join us as Decimo General Manager.
Your role
As Decimo General Manager your role will principally be operational, providing senior management support to the restaurant team during service. You will also manage many aspects of training and development, compliance, recruitment, budgeting, payroll, and supporting business development with the F&B Director and 10th Floor Operations Director. You will make guest engagement and experience front and centre, support and develop Decimo's social and cultural programming, ensure smooth communication with all departments, and develop and implement strategies to increase covers and average spend revenues.
Decimo operates Tuesday–Saturday with upwards of 200-300 covers on a busy night, so you will need to be used to operating at the highest level in a high-volume environment. You will of course be passionate about service, with an exceptional working knowledge of restaurant operations and the order of service, and have a deep appreciation for quality wines and cocktails.
You will work closely with your management team to lead and direct service delivery across the lounge and restaurant, with a hands-on approach to ensure everything runs smoothly, guest tables are ‘touched’ and greeted, and dinner service transitions into late night party vibes as we evolve seamlessly into a late-night lounge with acclaimed DJs, live music and other social events. Decimo also hosts special event buyouts and party nights that can transform the space for over 400 guests.
Finally, and importantly, you will need to be highly social, upbeat, friendly, confident, able to handle pressure well, thrive in a busy high-volume, high-energy environment, and manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.

Prior experience as a General Restaurant Manager a similar ‘lifestyle’ high volume destination restaurant is essential for this role. You will also have an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests. In addition, you will need…
- Excellent understanding and experience in Restaurant Operations and General Manager responsibilities
- Strong knowledge, interest in and appreciation for great food and service (Spanish / Mexican cuisine and open fire cooking experience is a plus)
- Strong wine and beverage knowledge to WSET Level 2 (knowledge of Mezcal / Tequila is a plus)
- Highly motivated and pro-active; act with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
- Display a passionate, fun and enthusiastic approach to work to inspire and motivate the team, and create an enjoyable, cohesive and supportive working environment
- Ability to deliver effective training to maintain consistent service standards and develop team knowledge and skills
- Good financial understanding including the management of budgets, cost control, revenue generation and P&L
- Control, monitor and analyse quality standards to the highest level in restaurant and bar, team knowledge and presentation, guest satisfaction and feedback, condition of equipment and spaces
- Guide and develop operational team on Decimo’s design and financial awareness of FF&E and OS&E
- Knowledgeable on the latest market trends to drive revenue and develop innovative services and products
- Experience with sales and marketing to support marketing plan, generate restaurant bookings and grow market share
- Experience with Squirrel POS, Micros, Open table, Mapal One and Fourth HR
- Candidates should ideally hold a personal licence and Level 3 Food Safety certificate
- Available full-time with a fully flexible schedule, and able to work late-night Thursday–Saturday
