The Elvetham Hotel is an elegant country house hotel in Hampshire, rich in history and set in 35 acres of beautiful gardens. The hotel is one of the most historic sites in Hampshire entwined in the British Royal Family. The site can be traced back to as early as the 800's AD. Today the Estate consists of 91 bedrooms shared between the Main House and The Stables, as well as four unique and flexible function rooms.

We are currently recruiting for Maintenance Assistant to join our Truly Talented team.

Your Role:


As a Maintenance Team Member, you’ll play a key part in keeping our hotel running smoothly and safely. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all maintenance tasks—both reactive and planned—are completed promptly and to the highest standards, in line with our brand guidelines.

Working closely with all departments, you'll help maintain the property's overall condition, address issues efficiently to minimize guest disruption, and support regular property audits. You'll also assist in recording essential benchmarking data (e.g. water monitoring and meter readings) and help monitor stock levels in coordination with the Maintenance Manager.

What We're Looking For:


We’re after someone who’s proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change—someone who takes pride in their work and can balance hands-on tasks with excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in plumbing, electrical work, and decorating
  • Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively, even under pressure
  • A professional, guest-focused attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic about maintaining high standards

The position will require you to work 5 out of 7 days which will include weekends and BH
