The Holiday Inn Brentford Lock nestled overlooking the scenic waterways of the Grand Union Canal. This four-star hotel is located in west London and has been created for comfort and style and offers a warm and welcoming service to all guests. The hotel has 6 modern meeting rooms and 134 en-suite bedrooms; it is the first in Europe to have a revolutionary open lobby concept. With good transports link, the hotel can be easily accessed by public transport. Brentford train station is about 10 minutes' walk to the hotel. Job Description

As a Senior leader in our hotel – the role of Events & Reservations Manager is a pinnacle one, driving Events, Groups and Reservations revenue success into 2025 and beyond.
The ideal candidate will have a real passion for the Hospitality Industry underpinned by at least 2 years experience in the same or a similar role. You will be a strong leader, able to inspire your team, whilst also having a great eye for detail, a keen analytical mind and the ability to work collaboratively with the Sales team, operations team and wider Splendid organisation.

Role in our Family
Primary responsibilities of role:
Meeting & Events:
- Work with the Sales team to agree and set sales targets for the reactive meetings and events team in line with the hotels budget
- Ensure rooms, conference, events and weddings targets for revenue, occupancy and profit are achieved
- Train and coach the event sales team to ensure that they are focused on the guest journey from enquiry to booking
- Oversee event sales process from initial enquiry through to invoicing
- Accurately complete the weekly M&E forecast
Reservations/ Groups:
- Support a proactive room sales strategy
- Devise clear procedures for the groups team to include tour series wash, sales updates, contracts, payments and rooming list deadlines
- Ensure all block bookings are communicated to the operations team
- Specific job-related duties
- Set and negotiate rate according to Selling Strategies
- To have excellent product knowledge and be able to promote all facilities within the Hotel
- Identify new accounts and contacts and give sales leads to the pro-active team
- To meet clients, agents & production companies on site to discuss their requirements and offer professional guidance
- Ensure correct weekly and monthly forecasting of all Groups and Event
People
- Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan, and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members
- Be a role model for the event sales and reservations team, provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback
- Ensure staff are trained on systems, security and deposit handling procedures, and service and quality standards
- Take a responsible approach towards timekeeping and attendance to ensure the department runs efficiently and assist in the event of absence cover
Key requirements
- A strategic outlook with the ability to see commercial opportunity when presented
- Experience managing an Events and Reservations team
- Experience using Opera and Delphi
- Reservations and Meeting & Events Sales experience
- Strong customer focus and ability to engage and connect with guests
- Ability to multitask and prioritise
- Strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills
- Lead-by-example work style
- Commitment to exceptional guest service
- High level of IT proficiency
