ABOUT THE ROLE

The Velvet Assistant Bar Manager is responsible for supporting the Velvet Bar Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Velvet Bar. This includes supervising the bar team, ensuring exceptional service quality, maintaining inventory, ensuring the cleanliness of the bar, and contributing to the creation of a welcoming and professional atmosphere for guests. The Velvet Assistant Bar Manager will also be responsible for training and developing the bar team while maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a bar or hospitality setting, with a proven track record of managing and motivating a team.
  • Experience in luxury or high-end hospitality environments is preferred, with a strong focus on guest service and quality standards.
  • Solid experience in bar operations, including inventory management, beverage cost control, and maintaining stock levels.
  • Familiarity with cocktail preparation, drink presentation, and creating innovative drink menus or seasonal promotions.
  • Previous experience in training and developing staff, ensuring high standards of performance and customer service.
  • Experience with handling guest feedback and resolving issues promptly and professionally, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining composure and quality service.
  • Luxury hospitality experience preferred
  • Bartender or Mixologist Certification is highly desirable.
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service is preferred.
  • Food safety certification, such as Level 2 Food Hygiene, is an advantage.
  • Previous training or certifications in health and safety regulations (e.g., fire safety, first aid) is beneficial.
  • A relevant hospitality management qualification (e.g., degree or diploma in hospitality management or a related field) is a plus.
