JKS are seeking a Beverage Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be friendly, personable and passionate about all things food and drink. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Beverage Manager looking for a new role in an award winning, critically acclaimed group.

The Role

As the Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Beverage Department. The role requires a blend of leadership skills, attention to detail and quality, excellent guest service, a smart approach to business finances, and a humble and hands-on approach in order to drive the business forward. Previous experience managing a high-volume, quality bar or restaurant at Senior Bar manager level or above and a Level 2 WSET is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage beverage operations
  • Lead and motivate a small bar team, ensuring consistent and exceptional service
  • Manage and maintain appropriate stock levels, ensure timely ordering, and oversee efficient inventory management
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, hygiene standards, and maintain a safe environment for staff
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create food and beverage pairings that enhance the overall dining experience
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments, actively seeking opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain and develop excellent knowledge of wine, suppliers, and attend wine tastings
  • Expectation to run shifts on the floor, taking charge of the wine service during operations
  • Deliver regular, relevant wine training sessions for the team
  • Keep wine lists up to date and factually correct – both digitally and physically
  • Ensure the wine cellar is fully stocked, clean, and that vintages are checked regularly

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate the team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and POS systems
  • Ability to train the team and develop supplier material for wine/spirits education
