Nestled in the picturesque town of Dartmouth in Devon, our purpose built care home provides exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 79 residents. Set against the backdrop of coastal beauty, our home combines outstanding care with a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere where residents feel safe, valued and well supported.

We are now looking for a dedicated and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. What we offer:

  • £16.64 per hour
  • Contracted to 40 hours per week
  • Paid DBS, pension scheme, free uniform and onsite parking

Your role:

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the full operation of our kitchen. You will prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals tailored to the needs and preferences of our residents, while managing stock, rotas, compliance and kitchen cleanliness with precision and care.

You will collaborate with the Home Manager and Group Executive Chef to plan seasonal menus, ensure high food safety standards, and lead your team with confidence and warmth. Your leadership will play a central role in enhancing daily life for our residents through the meals you deliver and the standards you uphold.

What we are looking for:

  • City & Guilds 706 1 and 2 or equivalent qualifications (achieved or in progress)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a kitchen environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A team player who leads with calm, clarity and a positive attitude
  • Ideally experience preparing meals for individuals with specific dietary needs
  • Previous experience in a care setting is welcome, though not essential
