Help create a home where every resident and every colleague, feels truly valued!

Mearns View is more than just a care home, it’s a warm, vibrant community in the heart of Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire. Purpose-built and beautifully designed, our 67-bed luxury home offers specialist Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite, and Palliative care. As we prepare to open our final unit and welcome more residents into our home (currently at 38 of our 67 capacity), we’re looking for a confident and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to lead our care team with heart, professionalism, and purpose.

Here, we do things differently. With no agency staff, our team is built on genuine relationships, trust, and continuity. And it shows in our 9.9 carehome.co.uk rating. This is a happy, supportive workplace where you’ll know your team, know your residents, and know you’re truly making a difference every day.

We offer:

  • £13.60 per hour.
  • Full-time roles (33–44 hours) on day or night shifts.
  • Bank holiday pay enhancement.
  • Overtime enhancements.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
  • Paid PVG, free uniform, and free onsite parking.
  • 5.6 weeks’ annual leave (based on full-time hours).

As a Senior Care Assistant:

You’ll take pride in leading by example. From mentoring junior staff and coordinating shifts to supporting with medication and hands-on care, you’ll set the tone for your team and help us maintain the respectful, person-centred environment our residents deserve.

You’ll be the steady hand that helps guide our care team through every shift ensuring clear communication, smooth transitions, and a warm, welcoming home where residents feel safe, seen, and valued. Whether it’s updating care plans, talking with families, or stepping in with gentle support, you’ll be trusted to lead with compassion and confidence.

Why you’ll love it here:

We’ve built something special at Mearns View a home where most of the team have been here since the beginning, and where new faces are warmly welcomed. As we grow, so do the opportunities to progress your career. We’re now preparing to open our top floor to new residents, so it’s a great time to step into a leadership role with real purpose and pride.

What you’ll bring:

You’ll have an SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or be actively working toward it) and practical training in medication administration. Most importantly, you’ll bring the leadership skills to motivate and guide a team, the warmth to build meaningful relationships, and the passion to deliver care that’s truly person-centred.
