The Fleet Care Home, nestled in the picturesque town of Dartmouth in Devon, provides exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 79 residents, offering a serene and supportive environment where quality care meets coastal charm.

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity where your meals will not only nourish, but bring comfort and joy to our residents every day.

What You Will Do
As a Chef at The Fleet Care Home, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking and serving meals that are nutritious, well-balanced and tailored to meet the dietary needs of our residents. You will work alongside the Head Chef to plan varied menus that make the most of fresh ingredients and reflect the preferences of those in our care. You will manage daily kitchen operations, ensure stock is ordered and rotated effectively, and maintain accurate records for food safety compliance. You will oversee kitchen hygiene and cleanliness to the highest standards, supporting a safe and efficient working environment. Your creativity, attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure that every mealtime is something our residents look forward to.

What We’re Looking For

  • City & Guilds 706 1 & 2 or equivalent culinary qualification (achieved or in progress)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience working in a busy kitchen environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, organised approach
  • Previous experience in a care setting or with specialised dietary needs is desirable
