Gardener

Situated in the rural town of Radstock, our modern, traditionally built care home will provide luxury accommodation and exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite care for up to 50 residents. We are proud to be creating a serene and welcoming environment — and our gardens are a key part of that vision.

We are now looking for a passionate and proactive Gardener to help us develop and maintain our outdoor spaces. This is a rewarding opportunity to bring beauty, calm, and joy to residents, visitors, and staff alike.

What we offer:

• £13.00 per hour
• Contracted to 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 10:00–15:00)
• Paid DBS, pension scheme, uniform provided, free onsite parking
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

Your role:
As Gardener, you will take the lead in developing and maintaining our care home’s outdoor spaces. From planting vibrant seasonal displays to caring for lawns and trees, your work will help create a peaceful and uplifting atmosphere that enhances daily life for our residents.

You will:

• Install and care for seasonal plants throughout the year
• Maintain lawns through regular mowing, trimming, and feeding
• Mulch, edge, and weed garden beds to keep them looking their best
• Prune trees and bushes to encourage healthy growth and tidy appearance
• Monitor plant health and address issues promptly
• Carry out pest control when needed to protect plants and green areas
• Keep all outdoor areas clear of litter and debris
• Maintain garden tools and equipment, ensuring they are safe and ready to use

What we are looking for:
Ideally, you will have previous experience as a gardener or groundskeeper and be confident with landscaping and seasonal planting. You should have good knowledge of plant care, garden machinery, and basic health and safety regulations. Most importantly, you will be enthusiastic about creating beautiful spaces that enhance the daily lives of our residents.
