  • Previous experience in a similar role, or Sales in a luxury environment is an advantage
  • Articulate in spoken and written English as well as be computer literate and familiar with Opera, Adeco and Microsoft Excel

 Your responsibilities

  • Assist the DOS with creating and implementing the annual commercial strategy.
  • Understand the hotel sales plans to ensure they accurately interpret and support the objectives of the business and use these plans to focus the sales efforts appropriately within the market.
  • Work closely with the DOS and Senior Management Team to identify and drive focused activities on elements of the business that require additional support.
  • Contribute to the development of company sales initiatives by recommending, implementing and monitoring appropriate local activity.
  • Working alongside the marketing department to assist in the organisation of comprehensive information describing the range of products and services offered by the hotel and deliver this information through relevant sales resources and sales channels to existing and potential guests.
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly reports that meet the needs of the hotel and the management team.
  • Assist the DOS in preparing and presenting, on a monthly basis, the contribution, focus and activity of the proactive sales team to the senior management team.
  • Contribute to creating an annual sales budget for travel, entertainment and all costs associated with the sales activity.
  • Co-operate with other departments in the hotel, particularly Reservations, Revenue and Meeting and Events department, to create an exceptional guest experience, ensuring relevant client information is shared where appropriate.
  • Contribute to relevant management meetings to develop and implement sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Prepare company contracts for the hotel in accordance with current business and pricing conditions, with assistance from Sales Co-Ordinator.
  • Monitor offers, options and discounts for repeat bookings for groups and events in close co-operation with the Reservations & Events colleagues.
  • Manage and maintain existing relationships with corporate accounts and actively seek new corporate accounts in line with the agreed strategy.
  • Agree RFP strategy with the DOS and subsequently support the Sales Co-ordinator in managing the administration of the Cvent Lanyon platform.
  • Generate MICE revenue growth using a consultative selling approach to maintain and expand relationships with key MICE agents.
  • Research, identify and establish new business sales contacts, develop relationships and distribution opportunities from existing MICE programs and partners.
  • Plan and execute sales activity including research, telesales, hotel show rounds, entertaining and client road shows.
  • Domestic travel where and when required
  • Manage the sales function in the absence of the DOS and be the senior team member to represent the sales department when necessary.
  • Attend relevant and appropriate networking and trade show events and ensure follow up is completed post event
  • Maintain records in Salesforce, entering activities, closing activities with results/outcomes and ensuring data is accurate, with the help of the Sales executive if required.
  • Understand and subsequently communicate effectively, the brand values and voice of One Aldwych, ensuring we are positioned as Covent Garden’s Cultured Independent Hotel.
  • Assist and support with ad hoc projects as required by the DOS.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the market by reading relevant trade press, researching and being familiar with the competitive landscape.
