Harley Haddow has recently established a new office in Scotland and is excited to strengthen its presence in the North. Centrally located in Inverness, with excellent connectivity to transportation networks, you'll be joining a dynamic and expanding team poised for future growth.

We are building our team in our Inverness office and are seeking a driven and experienced Electrical Engineer to join us. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and growing team, contributing to a variety of projects across multiple sectors. You will play a key role in delivering innovative electrical engineering solutions and be part of a company that values sustainability, quality, and efficiency.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver electrical designs from concept to completion. Your responsibilities will include managing project timelines, preparing electrical schematics, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards. You will work on projects in diverse sectors, contributing to both new builds and refurbishments, while continually developing your skills and expertise in the field.

Within this role you will have opportunity for progression and development as the office grows.

You will have strong technical and communication skills and be confident in representing Harley Haddow through direct contact with clients and other design team members.

Other key responsibilities include;

  • Developing electrical services strategies
  • Preparing scheme design drawings (from concept right through to detailed design).
  • Where appropriate inputting to the Stage 2 and 3 MEP Reports
  • Preparing outline M&E specification
  • Understanding and working within the commercial framework for projects.
  • Preparing and delivering project presentations to client teams
  • Preparing electrical services scheme design proposals
  • Taking responsibility for delivery of electrical services detail design
  • Planning and programming electrical detailed design processes
  • Supervising and planning workloads for Assistant and Apprentice Engineers on projects you are responsible for
  • Ensuring that electrical services detailed outputs meets quality requirements.
  • Ensuring project delivery meets deadlines and Client’s brief.
  • Monitoring electrical Installation works against Electrical Services Design.


About you:

  • Degree qualified and ideally working towards chartered status.
  • Be able to demonstrate proven project experience
  • Strong record in project management, delivery, and quality.
  • People skills and demonstrable management and client facing skills.
  • Capable of working with own initiative to provide solutions to engineering and management challenges
  • Hold a valid UK Driving Licence(preferable)
  • Be prepared to travel to meetings and projects, as necessary. Generally local to contracted office, but occasional work in other parts of UK and Europe or overseas that may necessitate an overnight stay
  • Ideally with experience Expert in the use of all necessary design software not limited to those identified below CAD, Revit, Bluebeam Hevacomp
