The Clink Charity has been at the forefront of offender rehabilitation since 2010 and has developed award winning training programs which have provided second chances to the most vulnerable in society whilst achieving superb results in rehabilitation and reduction in numbers of reoffending. We now have an opening for an experienced Resettlement Support Worker to support our clients in the North West.
The Role:
As a Resettlement Support Worker, your role is crucial in supporting our clients in reducing reoffending rates. As part of our close-knit team, you will be providing a high quality and responsive support service which creatively addresses the needs and risks of our clients to enable them to avoid further offending behaviour and maintain employment. Clients will come from a multitude of prison sites across the North West region, therefore careful diary management, planning and travel between multiple prison locations will be key in managing your community caseload.
Contract: Permanent, Full Time.
Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm
Location: Based at HMP Styal, Altrincham, Cheshire with travel around the North West & (occasionally) Yorkshire
Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum
Successful applications MUST have:
• Experience and skills in working with offenders and/or vulnerable people within a prison environment
• Experience and skills working with disadvantaged and excluded individuals, and managing issues around mental health, drug & alcohol use and offending behaviour.
• A clean driving license is essential and the ability drive (own car required) between multiple prison sites.
To be successful in the role, you will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
• Custodial experience is preferred as this role will be working with clients across multiple prisons and an understanding of offending behaviour is necessary.
• Experience in working with individuals who have experienced mental health issues and drug & alcohol abuse, disadvantaged & excluded individuals, including those who present a risk of harm is required to make appropriate referrals.
• A good understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to assess risk in consultation with your team.
• Previous experience working in partnership with employers, drug & alcohol services, benefits agencies, probation services and other external stakeholders.
• An understanding of the methods and approaches that could be used to prepare clients to live and work independently.
• Excellent English Language communication skills, and administration skills to be able to produce high quality meeting minutes, client notes and letters.
• Knowledge of the benefits system and ability to deal with housing agencies and landlords.
• Some knowledge of the hospitality industry is of benefit, or an interest or willingness to learn.
• The ability to work under pressure and manage your time effectively, prioritizing need accordingly.
• A supportive and motivating approach to your client group, with a genuine desire to help clients turn their lives around and enable them into employment.

• Ministry of Justice Enhanced Vetting (to be able to draw keys)
• The right to work in the UK and provide original documentation/share code as part of the recruitment process.
