Midgard is the main contracting division of the +£600m turnover JRL Group and utilises all the company's in-house resources and facilities to provide clients with a bespoke constructionservice. We have gone back to the time when contractors carried out work themselves with a dedicated, reliable workforce and their own fleet of plant and equipment.

Due to continued growth we are seeking to recruit an Estimator to join our preconstruction team at our head office in North London. As part of a well-established team the successful applicant will gain experience tendering on a mixture of commercial and residential projects including prestigious landmark schemes across the UK up to £350m in value.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for reviewing tender documents, assessing scope, risks involved and tender complexity whilst providing feedback to the Senior Estimator.
  • Calculate and prepare quantities and source sub-contractors & suppliers capable of complying with tenders in coordination with the Estimating team.
  • In addition to this, you will be providing support to develop and maintain the estimating management systems to ensure accurate cost breakdowns for buying purposes and cash flow forecasts.
  • Interaction with site teams and senior management.
  • Collation of tender information to produce a Margin report.
  • Value Engineering working closely with the Commercial team.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified.
  • Industry knowledge and interest.
  • Computer literate with a good proven competency in MS Office.
