The Barbary first opened its doors in Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden in 2016 to an incredible wave of public & critical acclaim [Bib Gourmand since 2016]. Almost 10 years on, The Barbary name remains at the forefront of the London dining scene, and continues to deliver bold flavours, innovative cooking and an unforgettable atmosphere. Following the successful launch of The Barbary Notting Hill in 2024, we are looking for an exceptional Head Chef to lead our kitchen, build on our early success, and take the restaurant to new heights.
This is more than just a Head Chef role – this is a chance to be at the forefront of a brand that continues to evolve and expand. You’ll be leading from the kitchen, inspiring your team, and shaping the future of The Barbary Notting Hill with creativity, precision, and passion. You will work closely with our Directors, operations team and culinary leaders, ensuring that our food remains cutting edge while delivering a best-in-class guest experience.
The Restaurant:
The Barbary Notting Hill brings the energy, flavour, and fire of The Barbary to a brand-new space in the heart of this iconic neighbourhood. At the centre of it all is our 75-cover restaurant with a reimagined horseshoe kitchen counter, alongside a vibrant dining room and a dedicated cocktail bar. Sourcing the finest ingredients, our menu stays true to the elemental cooking that defines us while pushing new boundaries to deliver an elevated and unforgettable dining experience that embodies the essence of the beloved Barbary brand.
You are:
- An experienced Head Chef. You’ll be a dynamic, hands-on leader who thrives in a high-energy, open kitchen environment.
- Passionate about cooking with fire and an instinct for creating bold and innovative dishes.
- Experienced in managing a busy, high-quality restaurant kitchen.
- Financially astute, with a deep understanding of cost control, labour management, and revenue growth.
- A motivator who leads with energy, integrity, and inspiration.
- Excited about working in a creative, fast-moving hospitality group that is expanding both in London and internationally.
You will:
- Lead & Inspire: Guide and develop a talented team of culinary leaders, fostering creativity and excellence.
- Drive Culinary Innovation: Develop seasonal, market-driven menus that reflect Studio Paskin’s commitment to quality and sustainability.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Oversee food and labour management, financial controls, and kitchen systems to maximize efficiency.
- Elevate Training & Culture: Implement best practices in staff development, training, and kitchen leadership.
- Maintain High Standards: Ensure all kitchen operations align with health, safety, and quality standards.
