Night Manager

 IMMEDIATE START | FULL-TIME 40 HOURS PER WEEK | 4ON/4OFF

We are looking for a talented individual to be part of our dynamic and friendly Front Office team in the capacity of Night Manager.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your role as Night Manager will come with the following responsibilities:

• Maintain a positive spirit among the night team and ensure efficient coordination between the different departments.
• Make decisions and take necessary actions when needed and inform management and Department Heads concerned of problems or irregularities.
• Maintain a presence in the lobby area
• Assume responsibility of all pass keys and reports any irregularities
• Know and follow the fire and safety procedures of the hotel.
• Must be fully conversant with the Front office procedures and company policy regarding credit granting, credit card procedures and cheque transactions.
• Performs all Front Desk activities when necessary and ensure your team is fully supported
• Handles all guest requests and complaints efficiently
• Observe, supervise and ensure that all team members greet the guests at all times and provide customer service to the highest level
• Must be fully conversant with the System Night Audit process.
• Supervises and ensures that night audit is run properly.
• Contacts System Emergency Support in case of system breakdown and beware of any emergency procedures that maybe required
• Check the "Daily Room Control Report" before night audit. Checks that all room rates are correct against relevant rate reasons and makes corrections if necessary. Inform Assistant General Manager of mistakes or unclear rate instructions to investigate.
• Ensure the running, distribution and filing of the night reports
• Complete arrivals check for next day arrivals and ensure all VIP allocations are done to company standard.
• Supervise the handling, control and distribution of the faxes and messages is properly done and logged
• Enter all relevant information into the Manager on Duty report and communicate to HOD's and senior management.
• Complete shift checklist and ensure any outstanding issues are communicated.
• Ensure night team has completed all tasks to the company standards.
• Ensure any complaints from guests are registered and referred to the related department for immediate corrective action to be taken.
• Complete a minimum of 3 security and fire safety floor walks in a shift.
• Make a clear record of the timings of walks, issues resolved and any issues that require further action.
• Carries out any other duties as and when assigned by the Management of the Hotel and department.

Functional Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Previous experience as Night Manager or in a similar role gained in a 4/5* environment is ideal
• Strong experience of Opera
• Professional & customer focused
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
• Able to work within a team and on own initiative
• Takes ownership for his/her work

Social Skills and Experience

To possess the ability to communicate with guests and staff in order to project a positive image of the hotel. The ability to maintain hotel standards of work under pressure.
